At the White House yesterday, President Donald J. Trump brought together Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and top European leaders to chart a path toward ending the war in Ukraine.
This high-stakes gathering came just days after President Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska—adding momentum to an emerging framework for peace.
On Truth Social, President Trump shared:
“I had a very good meeting with distinguished guests—President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, President Macron of France, President Stubb of Finland, Prime Minister Meloni of Italy, Prime Minister Starmer of the United Kingdom, Chancellor Merz of Germany, President von der Leyen of the European Commission, and NATO Secretary General Rutte. We discussed security guarantees for Ukraine, coordinated with the United States, and everyone was very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine…”
President Trump also revealed that preparations are already underway for a direct meeting between President Zelenskyy and President Putin, followed by a trilateral dialogue including himself—a pivotal next step in a war that has stretched on for nearly four years.
Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are now actively coordinating with both Russia and Ukraine to advance this process.
