Former Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Romănishyn: “Ukraine is not a humanitarian case — it’s an economic partner.”

In this conversation with The National Interest’s Jacob Heilbrunn, former Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Romanyshin emphasizes — based on a field study in which he personally took part — that Ukraine is already a contributor to the U.S. economy, not merely a recipient of aid.

“Over 45,000 Ukrainian-American businesses generate between $40 and $60 billion in revenue, create 300,000 jobs, and pay about $8.5 billion in taxes,” he notes, calling on Kyiv and Washington to move beyond solidarity and deepen their strategic economic partnership.
